Peas are a versatile and tasty vegetable. They are easy to cook and can be served as a side dish, in salads or soups, or even as a main course.

This recipe was created in our kitchen. Crispy potato wedges from the oven, but no side dish. Using a few ingredients we had in the fridge, we whipped up this simple but tasty recipe. Combined with mashed potatoes and fish sticks, peas made our palates sing at a young age. The legumes have a slightly sweet and nutty flavor that pairs well with a variety of other ingredients. In addition, peas are rich in nutrients such as fiber, protein and vitamins.

Ingredients


250 gram frozen peas

1 tbsp butter

1 tsp caramelized onion

Freshly chopped parsley

Salt and pepper


Preparation


In a pan, sauté peas in butter, add caramelized onion. Saute for 4-6 minutes over medium heat until peas are firm to the bite. Stir in parsley, salt and pepper to taste, and serve as a side dish with fish, meat, or potatoes. Optional: Drizzle grated Parmesan over the peas while they are still warm.
